“King Elementary is off of MLK and Florence. MLK is a very busy street. Having someone supervise and safely cross students before and after school is essential. Our families feel secure knowing that someone is attentive to the students crossing. Traffic slows down when they see a crossing guard and motorist are more vigilant of students crossing. Thank you to the crossing guard program!"

We love our crosswalk ladies, we have built relationships with them over the years. They have been faithful to show up, on stormy days or even 100 degree weather. Their constancy has made it a safe environment for my children but also several kids in the community. We know they will be there. As a mommy who’s lived through several seasons of parenting, I’ve appreciated their care and safety over my children when I’m not able to walk them to school. We’ve built a great relationship with them over the years. We even give them gifts of appreciation throughout the year because we value them.
